Day 4: AGRA/JAIPUR Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal. Another chance for you to absorb your experience of the Taj Mahal. On way to Jaipur, stop at Abhaneri to see Chand Baori, 3,500 terraced steps creating this awe inspiring stepwell. Shahpura House.
Day 5: JAIPUR Walk through the narrow alleys of the settlements surrounding the Amber Fort. Explore Jaipur, enjoying the rhythm of the town, her shops, bazaars, parks and avenues. In the afternoon visit Ratan Textiles where you will witness block printing being done before your eyes. In late afternoon enjoy unique shopping or an Ayurvedic or Swedish massage at the hotel. Day 6: JAIPUR The morning finds us at the Hawa Mahal, a five story "screen" for ladies of the court to observe the street life below; then on to the extraordinary 1827 "Jantar Mantar" astronomical observatory. We then visit the City Palace, a must see experience. Following this is a specially curated tour of the old city, walking past ancient temples, shrines and craft workshops. Shahpura House.
Day 7: JAIPUR/PUSHKAR After breakfast, we take a road trip to Pushkar, a delightful and ancient pilgrimage site for the Brahma Temple, on holy Pushkar lake. Try the exciting camel ride into the desert to watch the sunset. We enjoy glamourous camping at night. Orchard Hospitality
Day 8: PUSHKAR/JOJAWAR Optional sunrise hike to the summit temple. Then we explore this quiet town, enjoying both the multitude of venders as well as the spirituality of Lake Pushkar. A road trip of four hours brings us to rural Rajasthan. Set amidst the Aravalli hills, the fort in Jojawar was once a major principality of the Royal house of Marwar. Now converted into a heritage hotel, it offers a chance to explore the surrounding village and tribal areas. Rawla Jojawar
Day 9: JOJAWAR We will spend time at a local government school Royal Raj Encounters has "adopted". The interaction with beautiful, earnest, schoolchildren studying in a modest structure has been a highlight of our tour. In the afternoon, enjoy the delightful train ride to view the countryside - and local travelers. Then take a Village walking tour, where along the way you might meet the barber's mother, the cobbler, or children coming home from school, and see a way of life unique to rural India. Day 10: JOJAWAR/UDAIPUR On to Ranakpur, a richly carved marble Jain temple complex. Then, to Udaipur, an enchanting city known for its local crafts and miniature paintings. Enjoy the winding streets filled with textile shops, rug dealers, little restaurants and homes along Lake Pichola. Fateh Garh
Day 11: UDAIPUR Today we visit City Palace, a testament to the arts and craftsmanship and fascinating history of the times, and also the Garden of the Maidens, home to 48 ladies in waiting sent to Udaipur as part of a princess's dowry. Royal Heritage Haveli
Day 12: UDAIPUR We are delighted to take you to experience Sas Bahu Temple today, elaborately carved temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Our guide will stimulate your imagination and help you feel the spiritual dimension of these ancient structures. Royal Heritage Haveli
Day 13: UDAIPUR/DELHI Morning at leisure (hike, yoga, view antique car collection, relax) before departing Udaipur for Delhi. Farewell dinner in Delhi. Trident Gurgaon
